Rare Catches

Here are my rare catches and planes no longer in Sydney.

I love the classics, so catching this one was awesome. This 747 classic (TF-AAB) at the time was one of the longest serving planes in Australian skies, this very plane was in Sydney skies since the very early 80s!

           An Alliance Airlines Fokker 100, rare aircraft and rare airline in Sydney.

Mineralogy MD-82 , after the dissapointment not catching the classic T tail jet I was after this one was a great bonus!

Singapore Airlines 747-412 (9V-SPP) - I was always after an SQ 744 and this really made my day, I didn't expect it! I still am hoping to catch one in standard livery!

                        

Qantas 767-338ER VH-OGB - 2nd QF 763 ever and has since been retired from Qantas.

Just another Virgin 737 to some.. This is VH-VBS which is no longer in the fleet. 

DHL B727 VH-DHE operated by Tasman cargo, beautiful jet so happy to have it in my collection even if it is only at night (Though I have more night footage of DHE and have a daylight pic of her).

Hainan Airlines A340-600 makes a very rare appearance. The delegation on board is the reason we now have regular Hainan Airline services to Sydney! Too bad it couldn't be with their beautiful A346's though!

China Eastern A340-300.. I really like the China Eastern livery on the A343!

JT's beautiful Boeing 707! As a huge fan of classic aircraft, one of my fav catches!

Lufthansa 747 D-ABTL in Sydney. One of my favourite catches for sure! Never thought I'd see one here!

Giant Volga Dnepr AN-124 departing Sydney! One has not been seen at Sydney since January 2011. What a beast!

Air China B747-400 in Sydney, always good to see a different jumbo!

Asiana Airlines B747-400. Asiana sent a Combi Jumbo twice that month instead of usual B772.

A Thai 777-300 (non ER). Once a common sight in Sydney, they made a very rare return to Sydney for a few days in 2011.

The Boeing 787 in Australia for a special visit. Complete with Boeing livery!

1st vist of an Boeing 747-8 to Australia by Cahtay Pacific Cargo B-LJA. Lucky for us, it was in Hong Kong trader livery.

The last time I saw a Southern Air 747 N761SA classic (and with GE engines) This would happen to be the 2nd last visit of one, the last daytime arrival. I miss these a lot.

Meridian Aviation Antonov 12 UR-CAH departs Sydney. Never thought I'd see one of these at Sydney of all places!

A very rare IL-96 departs Australia after a short stay, the most unique aircraft type to visit Sydney in 2012!

World Airways Cargo MD-11F departs Sydney, lucky it was in their old livery. Operating for EY Crystal Cargo who have never visited Sydney before.
